This emblem is inspired by the identity and activity of the Romanian Air Force, representing the 902nd Aviation Transport, Operations and Aerophotogrammetry Squadron. The circular design integrates the colors of the Romanian flag, emphasizing the membership in the Romanian military aviation and the missions carried out in support of air transport and reconnaissance operations.

In the center of the patch is the figure of a Spartan, a symbol of courage, discipline and fighting spirit, an element that makes a direct reference to the name and identity of the squadron. Below it is a globe, suggesting the extended area of ​​operations and participation in missions both nationally and internationally. The stylized eagle in the composition, inspired by Romanian heraldry, symbolizes vigilance, power and control of airspace.

The squadron operates Alenia C-27J Spartan tactical transport aircraft, used for logistics and air transport missions, as well as Antonov An-30 aircraft, dedicated to aerophotogrammetry and aerial observation missions.
