The front of the coin belonging to the 712th Helicopter Squadron reflects the identity, fighting spirit and refers to the history and tradition of the aviation structure. The predominant colors, blue, yellow and red refer to the Romanian flag.

The design is circular and organized on several concentric rings. The outer ring, dark blue, contains the inscriptions "Rotary wing squadron", a reference to the category of aircraft in the squadron's equipment. On the inner ring, yellow, there is "Romanian Air Force" referring to the squadron's membership in the category of forces of the Army, the Air Force.

The central element of the emblem is the stylized head of a puma, represented in an aggressive posture, with its fangs bared. Puma is a symbol of strength, courage, agility and offensive spirit, traits associated with the personnel who successfully represent the 712 Helicopter Squadron in complex missions both nationally and internationally.
At the bottom is the silhouette of an IAR-330M, an aircraft in the 712 Squadron, a symbol of air mobility and the support offered to all categories of Army forces. Also, at the bottom, the motto "Nulla tenaci invia est via", For the perseverant, no road is impossible. This motto fully characterizes the determination, professionalism and perseverance of the personnel in carrying out missions.

On the reverse, an IAR-330M aircraft is represented, placed in the center of an instrument reminiscent of the aircraft's gyro-horizon (attitude indicator). The background divided into blue (sky) and gray (ground), represents the operational environment in which the squadron carries out its missions. This face highlights the importance of the squadron's technical capability and operational role within tactical missions.
